Life-Changing Magic //book review

While I do not have an over abundance of stuff, I do tend to keep things occasionally that I probably dont really need. I really needed a way to start the organization process and to keep it going. This book, Life Changing Magic, did just that.
I have a tendency to get things and start projects and then just leave them alone. That is probably my biggest downfall. I have all this awesome stuff and it ends up in a pile or a box. I also have an issue with clothes. I have so many...hanging in my closets, in dressers, and in overflow bins. Going though this book gave me the motivation and direction. The purpose, or so I got was that I was not trying to just get rid of as much stuff as possible but to keep things that meant something or that would be used, things that would make me happy. It takes you the missions of getting rid of things that are alike and not room by room. So I was not going from room to room putting things where they need to be just to go through that same stuff once I got to that room.
It did take me a good week to go through the most of my house, I did the main rooms first, but still have a laundry room of stuff to finish up and a 2nd bathroom. I will continue to the same process as I started and keep it up since I have been able to get rid of a bunch of stuff I no longer felt I needed.
My house overall seems less cluttered and more put together, which is something I have wanted.

You can grab your own copy of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up over on Amazon

This book was given to me for review purposes. All opinions and thoughts are my own and honest.

Do You Have Summer Travel Plans?

We do most of our traveling throughout the year since 3 of us are homeschooled but I am possibly going back to school next year...which means some of our traveling plans we originally had for the next school year are being pushed up to summer. We are starting some of our summer travel the beginning of May.

I found this super cute, super bright and colorful, printable map of the US. I am printing it out so we can add all of our summer adventures to it.

What I'm Reading Now...Cinder

I took an unplanned trip to Barnes & Nobles this week with my mom and older brother, he had a gift card to use from Christmas so I tagged along. Of course I brought home some new books to add to my ever growing collection!
So what am I reading now?
Cinder - The Lunar Chronicles

What is Cinder about?
The reason I grabbed this book was the cover. It caught my attention right away. I honestly had no idea what it was about but the cover was interesting enough for me to want it.
Cinder is not about princesses and magic, which is what I first thought it would have. It is about androids running the streets of China. People from space are watching, and waiting, to make their move. Cinder is a mechanic with a past filled with mystery. She is also a cyborg! her past starts to haunt her when her stepmother blames her for her stepsisters sickness. Her life gets mixed in with Prince Kai and she is stuck in the middle of an intergalactic war. She has to uncover secrets about her past to protect her future.
The story is very unique to the original. It is a new twist on a great Cinderella classic. All the trickery from a good evil stepmother, all the adventures of a good fairy tale with a modern twist.

What are you reading now?

Other books in the series are:
Scarlet
Cress
Fairest
Winter
You can order The Lunar Chronicles, starting with Cinder on Amazon

About the author:
Marissa Meyer was born and raised in Tacoma, WA...home of Almond Roca and Stadium High School, which was made famous when Heath Ledger danced down the stadium steps in 10 Things I Hate About You. She did not actually go to the High School but she did attend Pacific Lutheran University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. She still lives in Tacoma, now with her husband.
